Position Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring thorough preparation for safe, effective, and efficient maintenance operations within their discipline, guaranteeing reliable assets in line with the WLNG Maintenance Execution Business Process. This role involves overseeing a team of maintenance technicians dedicated to daily operations, while the supervisor will be tasked with planning and prioritizing maintenance execution in the short, medium, and long term. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will play a crucial role in supporting the company through the project's construction and operational phases.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

During the Construction Phase:

  • Act as the representative for the Maintenance team during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning, dedicating efforts to support construction assurance and operational readiness while building the future maintenance team (including recruitment support, training, and maintenance strategy reviews).
  • Serve as the intermediary between Project and Asset disciplines throughout the construction phase.
  • Be accountable for ensuring a safe and smooth startup within their discipline during the initial operations.

During the Operational Phase:

  • Manage performance and provide coaching for the discipline work team and leads, assisting all reports in achieving personal development objectives.
  • Develop a comprehensive Discipline Goals Plan for the year and Individual Development Plans for all technicians within the team, providing guidance to meet personal development targets.
  • Oversee business operations to achieve outstanding results in terms of cost, reliability, and production.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance execution processes for the discipline, focusing on CMMS work order preparation, execution, closure, and enhancement.
  • Clarify accountabilities for direct reports and ensure they understand their roles and expectations, including work priority assignments.
  • Establish and implement rotation plans within trade groups to facilitate Job Competencies Profiles (JCP) signoff and promote the transfer of trade and business knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Training and HR to ensure adequate JCPs are available for craft personnel.
  • Facilitate engagement sessions with disciplined technicians to explore barriers and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop cross-functional initiatives by participating in the Maintenance Leadership Team.
  • Ensure safe and effective work execution by engaging with work teams to reinforce safe working practices, behaviors, and job site hazard identification.
  • Manage the discipline's maintenance budget, including developing the annual budget, conducting weekly and monthly reviews of expenditures, and preparing month-end accruals and accurate Latest Estimates (LE).
  • Coordinate with Operations and Engineering teams to minimize future costs, maintain budget adherence, manage unexpected production incidents, and mitigate maintenance budget impacts.
  • Interface with other departments to manage incidents and activities, ensuring a functional call-out and off-shift coverage system meets business needs.
  • Ensure the right personnel with the appropriate competencies are in place at the right times to maintain the asset.
  • Oversee the performance of contractors working within the discipline.
  • Ensure alignment with Operations and other discipline supervisors regarding work priorities and resource allocation.
  • Support commissioning and startup for brownfield projects.
  • Occasionally act as leave relief for other similar positions as required.

Requirements:

  • Field Safety Representative level B certification.
  • Proficiency in coordinating multi-craft maintenance or projects.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, particularly SAP-MM, is essential; familiarity with planning and scheduling is advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to SAP implementations for new facilities is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Maintenance Business Processes and Systems (Maintenance Execution; TA; Shutdowns, etc.).
  • Practical knowledge of Electrical testing techniques, both destructive and non-destructive.
  • Proven understanding of Electrical repair procedures.
  • Practical working knowledge in areas related to Electrical equipment, including Generators, Motors, Transformers, Switchgears, and Electrical devices for cryogenic applications.
  • Familiarity with safety protection systems such as Arc-Flash and Intrinsic applications, as well as hazardous environment classifications.
  • Understanding of condition monitoring techniques and relevant codes such as CSA, API, NPC, ISO, and NFPA.
  • Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide teams and mentor junior staff, with skills in influencing, negotiating, and decision-making.
  • A proactive individual with a focus on mentoring and coaching.
  • Energetic approach to continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience working with large, multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a diverse environment is beneficial.
