Overview of the Position

The Elevator Mechanic is a key professional responsible for the installation and maintenance of RAM Elevator and Lifts' product offerings. This role not only involves hands-on technical work but also includes mentoring Technicians to enhance their skills while ensuring exceptional customer interactions. The Elevator Mechanic will provide guidance on necessary and preventative service options for existing installations. This position requires travel to various customer locations across different regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct installation, inspection, and servicing of residential elevators and commercial lifts.
  • Supervise and support the professional growth of Technicians.
  • Assess and execute major repairs or replacements for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Perform necessary repair tasks as required.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service during on-site visits with clients and contractors.
  • Travel to customer sites within Alberta as needed.
  • Promote and advocate for a preventative maintenance program.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with management for implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Must pass a clear criminal background check.
  • At least 5 years of experience in elevator and lift maintenance and service.
  • Possession of an Alberta Elevator Constructor Journeyman certificate is mandatory.
  • Capability to lift weights up to 75lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Knowledge of relevant elevator codes (CSA B44-13, CSA B355-09, etc.) is essential.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of diligence and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor others.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license is necessary.
  • Experience with towing trailers is considered an asset.
  • Clear driving record is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 25 years old to qualify for insurance to operate company vehicles.
  • Valid CSTS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and WHMIS certifications are required.
