Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Plumbing Technician
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a qualified Plumbing Technician to become part of our dedicated team. We are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities of the Plumbing Technician include:
Execute proficient work at the journeyman level in the repair, upkeep, and installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, apparatuses, control equipment, and piping systems utilized in medical and laboratory gases, water supply, fire protection systems, and waste disposal systems throughout the facility. Conduct inspections and testing of cross-connection and backflow prevention systems in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumbing Technician. Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section. A minimum of two (2) years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC may be required based on site specifications.Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with others. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks. Competence in operating related equipment.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be subject to change based on operational needs and the provisions of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
