Job Opportunity
About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join our team specializing in the engineering of hydropower and dams. As a key member of our Energy & Resources business sector, you will be responsible for designing and rehabilitating hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop preliminary or detailed structural designs for hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities
  2. Conduct engineering for the rehabilitation of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities
  3. Perform feasibility and other studies to ensure optimal project outcomes
  4. Conduct stability studies for dams and other hydraulic structures to ensure safety and efficiency
  5. Conduct detailed and summary inspections of various structures, including dams, spillways, water intakes, penstocks, and other hydroelectric production-related structures
  6. Assist in preparing customer-specific plans and specifications for tendering purposes
  7. Monitor project costs and schedules to ensure timely delivery and optimal quality
  8. Prepare technical documents for quotation purposes and explain solution choices and technical design decisions to customers
  9. Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders from various disciplines to ensure effective project coordination
Requirements
  1. University Degree in Civil Engineering with civil/structural engineering experience in the hydropower/hydroelectric and dam sector
  2. Master's Degree or specific experience in civil/structural engineering (an asset)
  3. Member of l'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  4. More than five (5) years of experience in structural design, primarily with concrete and steel structures
  5. Autonomy, sense of initiative, and ability to work as part of a team
  6. Fluency in oral and written French
  7. Proficiency in oral and written English in a professional context to ensure adequate communication on certain projects nationwide
