Airport Control Coordinator

CBO - Canadian Base Operators is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Air Traffic Operations Specialist to join our team in Southport, MB. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and coordinate the air traffic control system for the airport and surrounding airspace in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
- Answer radio calls from arriving and departing aircraft, issuing landing/takeoff clearances, and providing information on runway usage, wind velocity, and visibility.
- Issue air traffic clearances and instructions, and provide advice based on observations and information from various sources.
- Transfer control of aircraft to receiving facilities and receive control of aircraft entering your airspace.
- Operate various types of equipment, including radios, telephones, interphones, computer systems, radar, recording systems, weather equipment, and airport/runway lighting systems.
- Alert airport emergency crews and other designated personnel when aircraft are experiencing flight difficulties.
- Coordinate with and issue instructions to airport vehicles and personnel.
- Maintain and disseminate records of daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Solve problems and think innovatively to ensure safe and efficient air traffic operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and focus on meeting the needs of our clients.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Grade 12 Diploma.
- Completion of NAV Canada training program or equivalent military training.
- 1-3 years of experience in the aviation industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic office equipment skills (computer, copier, etc.).
- Radar and radio equipment operation.
- Restricted Radio Operator license.
- Valid ATC license with a Tower endorsement or willingness to obtain.
- Category 1 or 2 medical certification issued under Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
