We are currently seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to become a key member of our Retail Accounting division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure precise completion and accuracy of Inventory Valuations across all retail locations for both Fresh and Non-Fresh Counts.
  • Act as a financial partner to the store operators you support.
  • Conduct variance analysis of Inventory Reviews and present findings to Finance Managers and Operational Partners.
  • Prepare corporate documentation to substantiate all balance sheet account balances associated with Inventory.
  • Analyze profit margins and scrutinize all general ledger entries for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Prepare periodic accruals and other necessary entries.
  • Identify potential theft or fraud for referral to Security Services.
  • Continuously seek improvement opportunities in systems and processes.
  • Develop relevant reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable about all aspects of the grocery industry.
  • Ensure the integrity of all ongoing financial processes.
  • Identify high-risk situations for the financial control group.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in retail is an asset.
