Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Resources Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Early Childhood Development unit, you will play a vital role in developing culturally appropriate resources and materials to support early childhood development in Nunavut.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive resources and materials to support early childhood development in Nunavut.
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Development unit, departmental staff, and community stakeholders to design and deliver resources and programs that meet the needs of children, parents, and childcare facility operators.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of resources and programs to identify areas for improvement and inform future development.
  • Support the administration of contribution agreements and provide training to licensed centre staff.
  • Work in accordance with the Inuit Language Protection Act and the Child Day Care Act in Nunavut.
Requirements
  • Recognized degree in Arts, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • One year of experience working in a licensed centre.
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
  • Fluency in one or more of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktut, English, or French).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education and development.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.
