The IT Project Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the financial management, resource allocation, and strategic administration of the project portfolio.

Global Functions Technology (GFT), a division of RBC's Technology and Operations, plays a crucial role in providing cutting-edge IT solutions. We work closely with various departments, including Risk, Finance, HR, Audit, and more, to develop digital tools that foster collaboration.

The IT Project Control Specialist will assist Project Managers and Program Managers in managing project documentation and departmental reporting. This role involves coordinating project schedules, budgets, and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the creation of presentations and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  2. Collaborate with project managers to ensure all necessary project documentation is completed and stored appropriately.
  3. Record meeting minutes and action items, ensuring timely follow-up.
  4. Maintain project reports and ensure resource availability for all team members.
  5. Facilitate project logistics, including meetings and conference calls.
  6. Inspire teams to meet objectives and drive results, embodying the organization's values and culture.
  7. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes.
  8. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  9. Demonstrate exceptional organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  10. Provide reporting support to senior management.
  11. Oversee financials and resources to aid in effective decision-making.
  12. Prepare and present management-level reports.

Qualifications Required

Essential

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing project financials and reporting.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  4. Familiarity with Excel, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  5. Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and planning skills.
  6. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in the financial services sector.
  2. Knowledge of Planview.
  3. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
