About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Boulangerie Chazal inc. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and food safety.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, and replenishing condiments and supplies.
  • Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, and pans by hand, and ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order.
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of food quantities and supplies, and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by serving customers at counters or buffet tables, and responding to their needs in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Equipment Operation: Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, and operate conventional ovens and food dispensers.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Rural area.
  • Physical Demands: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, and working under pressure.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Team player, ability to multitask, initiative, positive attitude, and ability to work in a temporary role.
Working Conditions
  • Language: English or French.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
