Qualifications
  • Education: Must possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a similar role is required.
Work Environment
  • Position located in a commercial dental laboratory.
Primary Duties
  • Craft and adjust dental devices, including full and partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps, and bands.
  • Prepare plaster models and molds for various dental applications.
  • Oversee and mentor technical staff, providing training and support to fellow dental technicians.
  • Manage inventory levels and procure necessary materials.
  • Prepare wax bite-blocks, impression trays, and orthodontic bands.
  • Employ welding techniques, including laser welding, to enhance device fabrication.
  • Incorporate 3D printing technology into the production process.
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in plastering, waxing-up, and polishing techniques.
