Mental Health and Substance Use Case Worker

Island Health is seeking a dedicated Case Worker to join our team of professionals committed to providing exceptional care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.
As a Case Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients on their journey to recovery. You will utilize your expertise to assess needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and connect clients with appropriate resources within our community-based network.
Qualifications: Education, Training And Experience- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field from an accredited institution.
- Hold recognized post-basic education specializing in mental illness and/or alcohol and drug addiction.
- Have up to two years of recent experience in a related role.
- Demonstrate proficiency in treating addiction and mental illness, aligning with Island Health's framework and standards within a rehabilitation/recovery, harm-reduction focused model.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, and teaching abilities.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, keen observation skills, and empathy when working with individuals facing addiction challenges.
- Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Promote positive change and client independence.
- Prioritize and manage workload efficiently.
- Proficiency in operating a personal computer with various Windows-based software applications.
A valid BC Driver's License is required for this position.
