Position Overview
- Conduct maintenance and repair operations on Transat's ground machinery and both heavy and light vehicles.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with the company's trucks and vehicles.
- Execute preventive maintenance on both conventional and diesel engines.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on various types of equipment.
- Engage in welding tasks.
- Undertake any other related responsibilities as required.
Required Qualifications
The following qualifications are essential for the heavy vehicle technician role:
- Formal training in vehicle mechanics or a related field.
- Experience in the mechanical industry.
- Proficiency in bodywork with expertise in welding (mig and tig).
- Skills in painting are an asset.
- Experience in electrical diagnostics and blueprint interpretation is advantageous.
- A strong eagerness to learn all facets of the profession.
- Team-oriented, resourceful, capable of meeting tight deadlines, and detail-oriented.
- Solid understanding of propane, electric, diesel, and gasoline-powered equipment.
- MOT card (Transport Canada Pass) is required.
- A valid Class D driver's license is necessary.
