Job Title: Engineering Lead

Rhetorik Solutions is a leading provider of enterprise-level leads and market intelligence services. We are seeking a skilled Engineering Lead to join our Big Data Software Development studio in Quebec City.

As an Engineering Lead, you will have the opportunity to work on an innovative, state-of-the-art platform and contribute to building world-class products and datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Product to define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of Rhetorik's products, including APIs and the integration of machine learning and generative AI solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, reviewing code to ensure optimal functionality and high quality standards.
  • Ensure a scalable and high-performing infrastructure using cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, etc.).
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating new solutions to improve development processes and product offerings.
  • Implement and uphold rigorous quality assurance practices, ensuring all software solutions are thoroughly tested and meet the highest quality and performance standards.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in software engineering and product development, focusing on big data solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and others.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake and AWS and DevOps practices in a data transformation context.
  • Familiarity with inner workings of OLAP databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Additional Skills:
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data product development.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of pride and ownership in delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying abreast of industry advancements.
