Job Overview:

The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing the operations and people at a multi-building site in the Lower Mainland. This critical role requires a talented and experienced individual who can communicate with clients daily and manage the staffing and service levels of our operations team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Site Managers and Site Supervisors to maintain the highest standard of safety, service, and performance.
  2. Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and deal with escalated concerns and complaints.
  3. Liaise with clients on a daily and weekly basis to provide updates on KPIs.
  4. Establish effective communication channels to ensure seamless flow of communication between clients, management, and respective supervisors and team members.
  5. Conduct business reviews to ensure clients are satisfied with our service delivery.
  6. Develop and/or implement work processes.
  7. Tour sites to evaluate and direct appropriate corrective measures to address any deficiencies.
  8. Conduct research and analysis to determine operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, and operating cost containment.
  9. Develop effective coaching strategies to increase productivity and performance.
  10. Manage budget, supplies, and assets for the assigned areas.
  11. Ensure quality assurance requirements are being followed and implement innovative ideas for process improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on business operations and account management leadership experience in a challenging and demanding work environment.
  2. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is considered an asset.
  3. Must possess operational knowledge of related industry (prefer previous operations management experience within the building maintenance industry).
  4. A full understanding of budgeting and costing in relation to the account, ability to implement change where areas are underperforming, and take best practices from performing areas.
  5. Professional approach to the client and the diverse workforce in the industry.
  6. Ability to raise concerns with the client on a professional level as well as foresee potential issues that may arise based on conditions and unforeseen events.
  7. Confidence to speak up and push back diplomatically and respectfully.
  8. Effective leadership skills are essential in this role.
  9. Ability to grow sales by identifying adjacent or growth opportunities.
  10. Experience conducting quality assurance audits.
  11. Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  12. Proven presentation skills and experience in public speaking.
  13. Must be self-motivated, outgoing, and energetic with a high level of commitment.
