Our Thunder Bay location in Ontario, Canada is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the position of Operational Excellence Lead - Wood Products Ontario (Atikokan, Ignace & Thunder Bay Sawmills). This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement performance enhancement projects to achieve operational objectives and improve production and maintenance capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Operational Manager and heads of business segments to drive digital transformation and harmonization of facilities.
- Analyze management processes and systems to identify opportunities for performance improvement and develop action plans.
- Implement the management system across the facilities to develop key management personnel and critical skills.
- Benchmark best practices at the facilities and within the industry.
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical Mechanical / Electrical / Process diploma with related industry experience.
- Five years of equivalent experience in wood products.
- Demonstrated progression in leadership roles with a proven track record of execution and delivering results from continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization, and adapt quickly to change.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Competent in maintenance process and reliability best practices.
- Implemented LEAN, SIX SIGMA, 5S, SMED initiatives.
- English speaking with French an asset.
- Willingness to travel 30% (mostly Northwest Ontario).
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
