Emergency Medicine Physician

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team at Aberdeen Hospital. As a key member of the emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leadership in the resuscitation and stabilization of major trauma patients and critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage a wide range of emergency medicine presentations, from injury to unexpected and undifferentiated medical and surgical illness in all ages, to mental health emergencies.
- Provide leadership in the emergency department, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
The emergency department at Aberdeen Hospital is a Level 2 facility, providing 24/7 access to emergency services. The department features two isolation rooms and specialty rooms, including triage rooms and two trauma bays with direct access to the helipad.
Qualifications- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for family physicians.
- Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for specialists.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
- Current Certification in Emergency Medicine.
