Assistant Controller

Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and maintaining our general ledger system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant
  • Lead and supervise the accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure close deadlines are met
  • Command sufficient knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Work alongside FP&A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics
  • Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
  • Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements
Requirements
  • Advanced credentials such as a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Customer service-oriented communication skills
  • Solid technology and analytical abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent degree and/or experience
  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
  • Month-end closings experience desired
  • Experience with Process Improvement Initiatives
  • International financial reporting standards experience preferred
  • Proficiency in inventory
  • Process Improvement Initiatives experience
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
