The Medical Lead, Gastroenterology is a key leadership position responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of gastroenterology services at Island Health. This role requires a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve high-quality patient care and outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Collaboration: Co-lead activities to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among physicians and staff, ensuring seamless delivery of gastroenterology services.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement processes to enhance quality improvement, monitor team performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize service delivery.
- Change Management: Champion change initiatives to engage and support physicians and staff, ensuring a smooth transition to new processes and technologies.
- Informatics and Technology: Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions to improve service delivery, leveraging electronic health records (EHRs) and collaborating with the Quality Systems team.
- Strategic Planning: Assess and prioritize team resource needs, working closely with medical and administrative leaders to ensure alignment with Island Health's strategic objectives.
