Your Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager of Product Innovation plays a crucial role in shaping product strategy and ensuring its successful implementation. This involves conducting research on new products, driving innovation, and overseeing design execution on various projects aligned with our business objectives, based on market insights and customer needs. The Senior Manager will manage relationships with consultants and suppliers while collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance customer value and implement continuous improvement strategies. Leading by example, they will embody Minto's core values of achievement, bravery, collaboration, and creativity.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting research on new products and materials, driving innovation, and overseeing design execution for residential projects, ensuring alignment with market research and customer satisfaction;
- Managing the design development process for new initiatives, including building types, community visioning, product assortment, and design from concept to market launch;
- Assisting in the creation of contract documents (drawings and specifications) to maintain design continuity throughout the tender, construction, and warranty phases;
- Collaborating with colleagues to deliver a cohesive and optimized value proposition for Minto customers on assigned projects;
- Developing, managing, and reporting on project budgets and timelines;
- Overseeing external consultant RFP and contract processes, including monthly updates;
- Reviewing documents to ensure proper coordination between design drawings, marketing materials, and contract documentation;
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders through document reviews and site visits to enhance product features and optimize specifications to minimize construction complexity and costs;
- Supporting acquisition efforts, including master planning, feasibility studies, and budgeting;
- Managing consultants throughout the procurement and production phases of assigned projects;
- Encouraging collaboration and support within the department and across functional teams;
- Building and maintaining relationships with peers and trade partners;
- Performing additional duties as required by management within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Architecture
- A minimum of five (5+) years of relevant experience in project management and design development for residential and/or mixed-use projects
- Experience in leading a team
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code and other pertinent regulations
- Understanding of residential low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise, or mixed-use building systems and construction methodologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Project knowledge is a plus)
