Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe and effective drug therapy, actively contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement, and playing a key role in achieving departmental excellence in patient focused care, customer service, and workflow efficiencies.

  • Focus on clinical services, including medication reviews, disease state management, and patient education.
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document patient progress.
  • Administer vaccines and determine the appropriateness of drug therapy.
  • Monitor medication adherence and collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Recommend OTC products and vitamins, and answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment.
  • Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities.

Technical Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess above average verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. They will be self-directed, able to work independently, and thrive in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will be licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, licensed to administer medications by injection, and possess OAT certification as an asset. Kroll experience is preferred.
