Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our team at Silgan Containers. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Load product from production lines into trailers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and clear production lines to maintain smooth product flow.
  • Notify operators of any issues or concerns that may impact production.
  • Assist Machine Operators with the start-up and shut down of machines.
  • Conduct visual inspections of all product to ensure it meets the highest quality standards.
  • Dispose of any defective items and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operate and monitor the semi-automatic bagger to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and communicate potential safety hazards and concerns to management.
  • Complete daily quality control reports, inspections, and investigations with supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including grinding up rejected bottles and disposing of debris.
  • Assist and train new employees to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Support other departments as needed to ensure seamless operations.
  • Complete all required monthly safety training and adhere to company safety policies.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and remain focused and efficient while conducting repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills to ensure effective collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Able to work a rotating shift schedule and ensure proper PPE is worn at all times.
Education

High School or GED required.
