About the Role

The Building Maintenance Technician III - Roving is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This includes performing routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, as well as responding to service requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as other mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Respond to service requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless delivery of services and maintenance.
  • Participate in and assist with facility-related projects, ensuring compliance with corporate and legislated policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level technician's development.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as they arise.
  • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
  • Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (e.g., Gasfitter I & II license, refrigeration license).
