Building Maintenance Technician III

At BGIS, we are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician III to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems, and performing routine and on-demand maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of facility systems to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Respond to service requests and perform on-demand maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless facility operations and maintain positive tenant relations.
  • Participate in facility-related projects and ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Strong client-service orientation and a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level technician development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
  • Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (e.g., Gasfitter I & II license, refrigeration license).
