Position Overview

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Internal Auditor (Finance and Compliance). The selected candidate will play a crucial role in audit planning and executing financial and compliance audits. This role demands adherence to recognized professional standards to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations. A key requirement for this position includes the ability to travel internationally between 20 to 40% of the time.

  • Formulate audit plans and methodologies (including procedures, checklists, and questionnaires)
  • Adapt plans and methodologies as necessary to address concerns raised by stakeholders
  • Support the development and implementation of auditing tools and databases (e.g., IDEA, advanced Excel skills)
  • Analyze and propose enhancements to audit procedures
  • Assist in executing improvements in audit methodologies
  • Conduct thorough audit procedures/tests, including interviews, operational observations, analytical procedures, and reviews of transactions, documents, records, reports, and policies
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls in business processes and related areas
  • Document audit procedures performed in working papers as necessary
  • Collaborate with management to develop realistic and effective recommendations for issues identified during audits
  • Follow up to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Provide support to external auditors as needed
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned
  • Assist in creating presentations related to audit and risk management topics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in internal auditing (finance and compliance)
  • Experience in external or internal auditing is advantageous
  • Proficiency in using IDEA or similar data analytics software is essential
  • Willingness to travel internationally 20 to 40% as required by the global nature of Magellan's operations
  • Desire to pursue or currently working towards a relevant professional designation
  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles, along with computer systems
  • Familiarity with audit practices, principles, processes, and techniques
  • Working knowledge of risk and control frameworks
  • Experience in data mining is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse individuals while remaining impartial
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
