As part of the VIE program, the procurement specialist will engage in a VIE assignment with Danone Inc. in the Canadian Business Unit for a duration of 24 months.
The Procurement Specialist will report directly to the Procurement Manager within the Cycles & Procurement division of Danone Canada.
Key responsibilities include:
Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management
Formulate and collaboratively develop strategies for purchasing categories; Cultivate and sustain relationships with key suppliers; Collaborate closely with the Marketing Department to assess needs, conduct tender processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure effective implementation; Oversee vendor compliance with Danone's policies and standards;Evaluation of Strategic Agencies
Design and execute supplier assessments; Monitor and evaluate the performance of local agencies; Establish performance enhancement objectives and necessary action plans; Ensure the execution of these action plans;Financial Management
Identify opportunities for value creation in productivity and cost management; Collaborate in setting the annual budget for each agency, track deviations, and manage risks with relevant stakeholders; Monitor operational expenses; Identify and implement monthly productivity improvements;Tools and Database Management
Collect, organize, and prepare information for procurement stakeholders; Develop procurement databases utilizing current tools and methodologies; Facilitate informed purchasing decisions using appropriate tools;Process and Continuous Improvement
Analyze existing workflows and pinpoint areas for enhancement with corresponding action plans; Create sustainable processes between Purchasing, Marketing teams, and Agencies to maintain control and clarity over expenses; Assist in clarifying the role of the Purchasing function with internal stakeholders;Required Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
A self-directed and organized approach; Demonstrated leadership and proactive initiative; Strong communication and synthesis skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels; Proven teamwork capabilities and interpersonal skills; A high degree of intellectual curiosity, strategic insight, and financial literacy; Proficiency in understanding contract language; The ability to perform under pressure with multiple concurrent deliverables; Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); A degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or Data Analysis;Eligibility for the VIE Program
The VIE program is a Business France initiative allowing Europeans to work internationally for designated companies. This program offers contracts ranging from 6 to 24 months.
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 28; Completion of national service obligations is required; Candidates must be citizens of the European Economic Area; Candidates must not have previously worked in the country of their VIE assignment;Contractual Benefits
