Our team works closely with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.
Job Summary:
The Registered Pharmacy Technician will play a critical role in ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, and timely.
- Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with the pharmacy management team on unresolved issues.
- Provide exceptional customer care to long-term care homes and retirement communities serviced by CareRx Pharmacy.
- Communicate effectively with the resident care team while maintaining professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and organized resident health records.
- Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and support for new and existing pharmacy team members.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education to stay current with pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information.
What We're Looking For:
- Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (RPhT).
- Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other healthcare team members.
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Kroll and Point Click Care (PCC).
- Experience with Med e-care.
- Experience with PACMed/PACVision.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of provincial regulations governing long-term care homes and retirement communities.
