Job Summary:

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Université du Québec. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical systems in our buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct energy audits and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements
  • Develop and implement plans for the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, including ventilation, climate control, and plumbing
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors and consultants to ensure that projects meet quality and safety standards
  • Develop and implement procedures for the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems
  • Assist in the development of energy management plans and strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that mechanical systems are integrated with other building systems
  • Develop and implement training programs for maintenance staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including ventilation, climate control, and plumbing
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
