Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of financial statements on a regular basis.
  • Management of banking activities, including reconciliations and deposits.
  • Oversight of the complete bookkeeping cycle, including Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Execution of month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
  • Handling intercompany transactions and monthly reconciliations.
  • Preparation and filing of regulatory returns, including GST & HST.
  • Support during year-end audits and corporate tax return filings.
  • Development of cash-flow projections.
  • Review and negotiation of property leases and contracts.
  • Identification of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through data analysis.
  • Collaboration with the finance team to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintenance of accurate records and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Continuous improvement of accounting processes for better management decision-making.
  • Completion of special projects and additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years in general accounting with knowledge of cost accounting.
  • Strong grasp of Accounting Standards and Practices.
  • Professional designation (CPA) preferred or in progress.
  • Proficient in financial software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and dynamic personality, with experience in retail or manufacturing being advantageous.
