Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Liquor Manager, the Liquor Store Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of the liquor retail establishment. This includes driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service while assisting patrons with their purchases.
  • Oversee the receipt of merchandise and ensure proper stocking of products on shelves.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Develop attractive product displays and end cap arrangements to enhance sales.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage daily operations including cash handling, till counting, and administrative paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Liquor Regulations and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Engage in effective inventory management, including ordering and receiving processes.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the liquor retail sector.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of various alcoholic beverages, including wine, spirits, and craft beer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on employee engagement and performance improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and operate a POS system efficiently.
  • High integrity and a strong work ethic are essential for this role.

Availability: Must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Note: Internal candidates will be prioritized based on their qualifications and experience.
