Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead the operations of our Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, BC. As a key member of our Food and Hospitality Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and customer satisfaction in all aspects of our pub operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the safe and effective operation of the pub, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of approximately 30 kitchen and server staff, providing training, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure excellent service and quality standards.
  • Menu Planning and Cost Control: Work closely with the Kitchen Manager to plan and implement menus, manage food costs, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service, responding promptly to complaints and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Financial Management: Control cash and other receipts, manage labor costs, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all aspects of pub operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the business.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Kitchen and/or Restaurant/Pub Manager, with a proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and driving business growth.
  • Certifications: Valid Food Safe (Level 2 preferred) and Serving it Right certifications, as well as any other relevant industry certifications.
  • Skills: Advanced understanding of professional cooking, kitchen skills, sanitation, and safety in food handling procedures; ability to construct menu costing and accurately estimate labor, food, and beverage costs; strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on hospitality, food service, or a related field.
