About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar PV Engineer to join our national renewables team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar projects across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design of utility scale solar projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Optimize solar PV systems, including equipment selection and system parameters, to maximize energy output and efficiency.
  • Support clients throughout various phases of the project, from initial feasibility studies to comprehensive design and implementation.
  • Track and evaluate new solar PV equipment options, including modules, racking, and inverters.
  • Collaborate with the solar team to improve solar design methodologies and product offerings.
  • Assist in due diligence reviews of pre-construction or existing assets.
  • Organize and document geospatial data and generate deliverables using AutoCAD/GIS software.
  • Communicate methodology and results through technical reports and presentations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the solar energy industry.
  • Experience with solar detailed design and PVcase.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Experience with solar modeling software (Helioscope, PVSyst, SAM) is considered an asset.
  • Enthusiasm for renewable energy solutions.
