Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Residential Care/Home Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality care to residents and clients in a residential and community-based setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy to residents and clients through assessment, consultation, and interventions that promote functional independence and occupational performance.
  • Assess clients' cognitive, perceptual, self-care, physical, and leisure status, and develop care plans to address their needs.
  • Collaborate with residents, clients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to formulate goals and develop care plans.
  • Prescribe and recommend specialized and adaptive aids and equipment to residents and clients for activities of daily living.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for residents, clients, family members, caregivers, and staff on independent living skills and occupational performance.
  • Coordinate rehabilitative services with clients and other healthcare services, such as home care nursing, case management, and community resources.
  • Act as a resident/client advocate by providing information and liaising with funding agencies and community resources.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years' recent, related clinical experience in a residential, community, or home health setting.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC and eligibility for membership in the BC Society of Occupational Therapists.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
