Position Overview: The Lester B. Pearson School Board is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as student supervisors within our lunch program. This role involves approximately one hour of work each day, with schedules varying by school. Please note that there will be a temporary lay-off during the summer months.
Work Schedule: Candidates will be expected to work approximately ONE HOUR each day during the lunch period, which varies according to the specific school timetable.
Availability Requirements: Applicants must be available to supervise students during lunchtime.
Work Locations: Positions are available in various locations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure students adhere to school discipline policies while maintaining a safe environment.
- Provide supervision for groups of 20-25 students.
- Demonstrate strong observation skills and effective intervention strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members and contribute positively to the team.
- Engage proactively with students during both indoor and outdoor supervision activities.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
- A Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant authority.
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in environments requiring self-discipline and interpersonal skills.
- A valid certificate confirming the successful completion of a standard first aid course (minimum eight hours) or a refresher course (minimum six hours) completed within the last three years.
