Job Title: Automotive Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at AutoCanada. As a key member of our Service Department, you will be responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work with efficiency and accuracy, ensuring the safety and reliability of any vehicle that has been repaired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production/repairs, cycle times and customer communication
  • Conduct multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for repairs
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle RO by creating a story in the on the associated repair order
  • Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician's tools
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes

Requirements:

  • A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process (310S)
  • Red Seal Certification would be beneficial
  • Completion of a related post-secondary program and or training courses
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

Work Conditions:

  • Indoor/outdoor shop environment subject to changing temperatures
  • Subject to regular exposure to fumes, dust/ dirt, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation
  • Work around and operate machinery and other motorized equipment
