Position Overview

As a vital member of PointClickCare's Legal and Compliance division, the Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be instrumental in spearheading key initiatives and projects that influence the organization, its clients, and various stakeholders.

Your primary duties will encompass the identification, analysis, and simplification of compliance obligations pertinent to the company's operations across diverse regions.

You will play a crucial role in assessing, modifying, and executing compliance and privacy policies, procedures, and training programs. Your expertise will aid in facilitating informed decision-making by the executive team.

Your main focus will be on privacy regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI) and other privacy legislation affecting the company's operations.

In addition to policy formulation, you will also address daily compliance challenges and inquiries from both internal and external sources.

Collaboration with various departments will be essential to ensure uniformity in privacy practices.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation and revision of compliance policies, controls, and educational materials
  • Identify and document privacy vulnerabilities, policy deficiencies, and exceptions
  • Remain updated on regulatory developments and evaluate their implications
  • Work alongside teams to uphold privacy standards in services
  • Support responses to privacy evaluations and questionnaires
  • Examine privacy ramifications of security incidents
  • Align data management practices with privacy policies
  • Conduct privacy evaluations of third-party vendors
  • Assist with data inquiries
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of pertinent experience
  • Understanding of health and general privacy compliance standards
  • Experience in policy formulation and execution
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Project management expertise
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Analytical and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred certifications (CIPP, CIPM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Canadian privacy regulations
  • Experience in SaaS or health information exchange environments
