Our organization delivers innovative mental health support to children, adolescents, and families facing diverse challenges. Our mission is to promote well-being and happiness with a strong emphasis on mental health, having positively impacted over 8,000 individuals in Alberta each year for the past 60 years.
Program Overview:
The Specialized U13 Program offers intensive therapeutic interventions for youth under the age of 18. We employ evidence-based practices, including the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, to guide our treatment strategies.
Position Summary:
We are in search of two full-time Child and Youth Care Counsellors. This role requires adaptability to work during weekdays, weekends, and various shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the children
- Implement suitable behavioral strategies
- Engage in crisis intervention
- Deliver educational and therapeutic support
- Oversee daily living activities
- Exemplify responsible behavior
- Organize and facilitate recreational programs
- Advocate for the rights and interests of children
- Participate in ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field
- Experience in therapeutic care is preferred
- Ability to connect with clients and their families
- Proven maturity and accountability
- Experience in leading shifts is an asset
- Clear background checks are mandatory
- First Aid and Crisis Intervention certifications are preferred
