Carpentry Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Gill Concrete Pumping Ltd.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry and construction, including preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and assembling and joining materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with experience working with wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Supervise other workers
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The job will require handling heavy loads and working in physically demanding conditions.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry and construction
- Strong background in carpentry and construction
- Ability to read blueprints and understand building codes
- Physical ability to handle heavy loads and work in demanding conditions
