Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician

Victor Energy Ltd is a leading powerline contractor with over 30 years of experience building Alberta's electrical infrastructure. Our team has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects, and we're looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our fleet and logistics team.

Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and completing repairs on our heavy equipment fleet, including excavators, derrick booms, skid steers, and loaders. The successful candidate will have the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and repair hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues with heavy equipment
  • Repair and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and repair hydraulic systems
  • Work with the Fleet and Logistics Manager to prioritize repairs and maintenance
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is in good working condition

Requirements:

  • CVIP Certification Asset
  • Class 5 driver's license with acceptable abstract; Class 1 license preferred
  • Experience with off-road equipment, truck and transport equipment, automotive and small engine equipment
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing Cat/JD/KW/FL/JD equipment
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with computer diagnostic equipment (Cat ET, Cummins, Navistar, SIS 2.0)
