We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Correctional Officer to join our team at the Ontario Public Service. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Training: You will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and will undergo training to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a Correctional Officer.
- Work Experience: You will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure and in a physically demanding role.
- Certifications and Licenses: You will be required to obtain a First Aid Certificate and a CPR Certificate.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: You will work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments, and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity.
- Personal Suitability: You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Work Term and Language: This is a temporary position, and you will be required to work in either English or French.
- Hours of Work: You will work a variable number of hours per week, up to 40 hours.
