Shift: Afternoon Shift – Monday to Friday 3pm – 11pm
Location: Milton
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety, employee engagement, and outstanding service within the facility. This position primarily involves hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor, guiding the team and mentoring employees on safety protocols, service excellence, and productivity enhancements. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the warehouse staff, evaluating performance, and implementing operational improvements to achieve excellence, maintain a safe working environment, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a workplace culture where Health & Safety is prioritized, providing leadership and support for related initiatives.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure adherence to health and safety policies and regulations.
- Maintain compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and all relevant workplace legislation.
- Conduct daily evaluations of safety, security, and cleanliness within the warehouse to prevent damage and ensure organization.
- Work alongside regional Health & Safety leaders to implement preventive programs.
- Partner with Food Safety leads to uphold Cold Chain Assurance programs, including compliance training and reporting.
People Leadership
- Direct daily warehouse operations by prioritizing tasks and providing coaching and guidance to the team.
- Assist in organizing regular communication sessions to discuss safety initiatives and performance metrics.
- Monitor and develop the performance of team members, ensuring adherence to policies and recognizing achievements.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
- Establish work schedules and ensure effective job assignments and completion.
- Spend the majority of the day on the floor, actively engaging with employees to enhance performance.
Customer Experience
- Lead the team in delivering exceptional service to all customers, aiming for continuous improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Track and report on customer experience metrics, collaborating with the facility team to meet or exceed standards.
- Implement operational processes that enhance service capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and timely order fulfillment.
Operational Excellence
- Set operational goals in collaboration with management.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring proper stock rotation and timely order processing.
- Support cost control measures, including overtime and expense management.
- Ensure the safe operation of all material handling equipment.
- Provide ongoing training and support to warehouse staff to enhance operational visibility and customer billing accuracy.
Key Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics setting.
- University or college education in Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with warehousing software applications.
