Position Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Supervisor for the Gold Room and Permits to oversee the safe, efficient, and economical management of the Gold Room and Permit systems. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and secure dore handling while facilitating seamless operations through effective pre-planning and safe permitting for maintenance activities.
Work Schedule: FIFO 8/6 Roster
Location: Telfer Operations, situated in the Great Sandy Desert, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the pre-planning and execution of Isolation and Permitting for all scheduled plant shutdowns, including Crushing, Milling, and Total Plant Outages.
- Exhibit technical and conceptual expertise in anticipating challenges and guiding teams to achieve objectives while prioritizing and delegating tasks to qualified personnel.
- Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards, ensuring transparency and adherence to company policies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and operational direction, promoting behaviors and standards that align with Newmont's culture and values.
- Support investigations when work is halted due to unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring effective risk mitigation measures are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with standard work procedures and safe work systems, reinforcing understanding among personnel.
- Verify that all team members are adequately trained to meet safety requirements and that work instructions are clear and comprehensible.
- Ensure that all partners, vendors, and external parties operate safely and are fully informed of industry, company, and site safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development of budgets, forecasts, and operational schedules.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and experienced leader, deeply committed to safety and operational excellence. Key qualifications include:
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity within ore processing or a related sector, preferably in mining or heavy industry, with a strong background in Gold Room operations and permit management.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational processes, including isolation and permitting procedures, with the ability to interpret P&IDs for plant shutdowns.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders, including production superintendents, maintenance teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Familiarity with SAP systems.
- Possession of a C Class Manual Licence.
- Full working rights in Australia.
