About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Canadian Orthodontic Partners. As a key member of our Waterloo, ON clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support in a compassionate and enthusiastic manner, building strong relationships with each patient.
  • Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health.
  • Collaborate with the orthodontic team to educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
  • Collect patient dental and medical history, and update records as necessary.
  • Prepare patients for orthodontic examinations and procedures, including X-rays and equipment setup.
  • Examine gums for infections or gum disease, and clean teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush.
  • Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances, and place and remove arch wires.
  • Perform lab duties and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment as instructed by the orthodontist or leadership team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and leadership to ensure seamless patient care and team collaboration.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist, with a preference for experience in an orthodontic office.
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Degree program.
  • Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Great time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
