We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at LifeLabs. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that our laboratory operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and interact with patients, explaining the specimen collection process and ensuring they follow necessary test protocols.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, maintaining the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details.
- Maintain client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience.
- Previous training or experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain the strictest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively relate to patients and healthcare providers.
- A competitive salary range of $25.27 - $30.05 per hour.
