Mental Health Support Group Facilitator

We are seeking a dedicated individual to facilitate our in-person peer support group for individuals living with mood disorders. As a facilitator, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their experiences and connect with others who understand their challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead in-person peer support groups for individuals living with mood disorders
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their experiences and connect with others
  • Facilitate discussions and activities to promote mental wellness and peer support
  • Work collaboratively with the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba to ensure the success of the program
Requirements:
  • English language proficiency
  • Lived or working experience with mental health
  • Knowledge of peer support or mental wellness (asset training will be provided)

This is a volunteer opportunity that requires a time commitment of approximately 1 hour per week. The volunteer shift is every Tuesday from 6:30pm-7:30pm. We offer bus tickets and training/orientation to support your involvement.

We acknowledge that the clean water we drink comes from Shoal Lake 40 first nation, and that our electricity is produced on treaty territory. Volunteer Manitoba respects the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
