Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Palliative Care Consultant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Regional Palliative Care Team Lead, you will play a strategic and operational role in supporting and championing an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional palliative care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a consultative model to promote excellence in hospice palliative care
  • Lead the ongoing development, performance monitoring, and evaluation of the NH HPC Consultation Team
  • Ensure alignment and coordination of all aspects of HPC initiatives and existing HPC services
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including Home & Community Care, Northern Cancer Control Strategy, and acute care sector
  • Represent Northern Health provincially and nationally at End of Life committees
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant
  • Two years recent palliative care experience
  • Five years recent related clinical practice experience, including two years successful formal supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Vehicle, valid driver's license, and appropriate insurance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, organize, and evaluate a geographically separated team
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
