Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to lead our Starbucks department. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring sales and profitability goals are met, and developing and training department colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Department Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Starbucks department, ensuring a high level of customer service and sales performance.
  2. Team Development: Train and develop department colleagues in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising.
  3. Inventory Management: Ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed, and priced appropriately, and monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  4. Expense Management: Manage departmental expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and supplies.
  5. Communication: Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to ensure store-wide goals are being met.
  6. Talent Acquisition: Be constantly on the lookout for great talent to join our team.
  7. Employee Engagement: Lead, coach, and motivate colleagues to improve productivity, engagement, and retention.
  8. Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean and safe department for customers and employees, and ensure merchandising and operational standards are met.
  9. Diversity and Inclusion: Build and lead diverse teams that foster a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.
Requirements
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting.
  3. Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to work a flexible schedule, and proficiency in basic computer skills.
  4. Knowledge: Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
  5. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
