Health Care Assistant

The Hamilton Health Sciences team is seeking a skilled Health Care Assistant to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Level II Intermediate Care Nursery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care activities, including equipment management and maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
- Provide unit support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.
- Grade 10 education and proficiency in English.
- Completion of CSAO Techniques course and Heart and Stroke Foundation course in CPR.
- Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a healthcare environment, with experience handling delicate equipment.
- Ability to lift using proper lifting techniques and bend, push, and pull using good body mechanics.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
