Claims Specialist

We're seeking a highly skilled Claims Specialist to join our Specialty Claims team at Intact Financial Corporation.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and maintain complex defence and coverage claims in Specialty Lines.
- Manage class actions and extraordinary matters.
- Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommend process, product or service improvements.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, including with business development efforts.
- Conduct coverage analysis. Handle complex coverage issues, draft reservation of rights and denial letters.
- Participate in settlement conferences, mediations, pre-trial and hearings.
- Initiate reserve movements, approve settlements and process payments within established authorization levels.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, training, support and guidance to various key stakeholders and team members.
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
- 5-10 years exposure within the Claims, Legal, Finance, Business industries is an asset.
- Effective verbal communication skills, with experience in interviewing, coaching others, and dealing with clients.
- Superior written communications skills to draft claims reports and file-related correspondence.
- Specialized industry experience.
