Position Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) operates in an advanced nursing role, focusing on health promotion and delivering high-quality care through the application of advanced clinical knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of Yee Hong while adhering to professional nursing standards.
- Integrate knowledge from nursing, medicine, and healthcare management within a broad framework of advanced practice.
- Enhance the quality of resident care through roles as an advanced practitioner, educator, researcher, and leader.
- Collaborate with the Yee Hong Centre Management Team and support nursing management in performance evaluations.
Collaboration:
The NP is a vital member of the interprofessional team, working closely with Medical Directors and attending physicians to optimize resident care.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the Extended Class (Primary Health Care or Adult).
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MScN) is required.
- Specialty certification in gerontological nursing and experience in gerontology is advantageous.
- Postgraduate certification and experience in palliative and end-of-life care are beneficial.
- Familiarity with GPA, PIECES, or other senior-focused training is an asset.
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Point Click Care and MS Office suite.
- A flexible team player capable of fostering positive working relationships.
- Knowledge of current trends and legislation in long-term care and community services.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin is an asset.
