Community Engagement Support Specialist

The Community Engagement Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities to participate in fulfilling daytime activities within the community. This position involves providing direction, assistance, and education across various aspects of daily living.
Available Positions:
Part-Time and Casual roles are open for application.
Qualifications Required:
- Certification as a Community Support Worker or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in Community Inclusion or behavioral support is advantageous
- Ability to connect with families and caregivers effectively
- Skill in providing supportive interactions with individuals facing developmental disabilities and mental health challenges
- Strong capability to establish and maintain boundaries and expectations, along with demonstrated leadership abilities
- Proficiency in modeling suitable behavior, including conduct, performance, concern for individuals, morale, adherence to program policies and procedures, work performance standards, professionalism, ethics, and social relational skills
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license is required
- Personal vehicle must be available for work-related tasks
- Experience in supporting individuals who use wheelchairs is a plus
- Current Emergency First Aid certification with CPR is necessary
- Proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory
